The smallest herd anyone can remember. Pastures empty as ranchers search for places to place their cows in hopes that God will send snow this winter and rain next spring. What happens on down the line in the industry? Empty pens in an overbuilt industry or packing house slots that are not filled? Just what is the tip-over point for feeders and corn and where is the banker in all of this? All questions that I ask myself every day and I know you do too.
I understand that managers in some of the processing plants are holding meetings to reassure their staff that they intend to stay in production. It is one of those “not in my backyard” deals in reverse. Please leave our supply chain in place. Please let my custom feeders make it through the crisis. Please help me find cattle to fill my pens.
I am sure that you have a lot more questions and I would love to hear yours and if possible, your solutions. TALK TO ME.
